Brilliant. Loved the art style and minimalism, nice sound design touches and the pitch black story was excellent. Good stuff!

(+1)

Really enjoyed the bleak story in this one. Also really enjoyed the style and the music was really well chosen! Made a video, hope you enjoy!

(+1)

Gave it a go...

(+1)

Great job my dude <3

A very nice story based game, I really enjoyed the game thus far.

Keep up the good work

(+1)

Loved it.

(+1)

I really anjoyed this game =D

i recorded a gameplay (in romanian). I didn't played too much and i already think is a awesome game !
(+1)(-1)

I did not like the sad ending

(+2)

I really enjoyed this game! The retro style Andy color tones set the vibe perfectly! Good stuff!

(+1)(-1)

It has a charm to it.

(+2)

in your next game when ever u start development, i would be happy to make sprites for the game unpaid :)

(+1)

Also, (i forgot to mention.) the music greatly compliments the game play. It makes you feel isolated and tense yet it is peaceful.

(+1)

I think coughe puts it very nicely it was a very good story and a very good idea, and i love the art style, it's just that some of the actions got tedious after a while, although for one of your  first games as a indie game producer i would rate this a solid 8/10! well done :)

(+1)

Beautifully executed. I loved the use of health as story telling element. You've crafted an excellent atmosphere that kept me on edge, and left me wanting to know more.

(+1)

Usually I can never finish these types of games but this was pretty neat! I love how you use the simplicity of the mechanics and level to the fullest.

I felt some of the animations and activation of items took longer than I had liked, leading to irritation.

Nevertheless bravo!

I really enjoyed playing this game a lot! It was really interesting and I had a lot of fun discovering the story and just exploring the game in general.

big credit to you mr T-Harris. i really do dig this game loved everything about it but i was kinda disappointed with the end but awesome game and good luck for the future :)

Hi DarealRebellion! Would you be willing to end your post if possible to remove the spoiler? :P

consider it done :)

Топ игра. Прошёл всю от начала, до конца

Hey, I recently played through this game and I really enjoyed it. It has a nice art-style, good music, and a well written story to keep you playing. I was wondering if you'd like to work on future projects together, I'm a programmer (I use GML and I'm learning CSharp). If you're interested message me on discord at Dawson#6181 and feel free to look at my previous projects,  thanks!

ok good game, rich of story, hard, zombie and nuclear apocalypse, c o l d w a r, soviet, US, and sad ending. pretty good game to be released on steam. But I think the background need to be fixed, I mean look at those building very high and tall. Need some variety on the background building.

(+1)

Well, it is a multi-ending game? I would like it to have a happier ending.

Thank you for playing. I originally considered a happier ending, but decided against it because I felt it might have ended a little anticlimactically.

(1 edit) (+2)

Prime example of what story-driven games can be. You chose to work with a very clichéd topic and managed to make it not about your typical zombie apocalypse, but about the player and his dire situation. You made me feel very invested in my character and the world he struggles to survive in. I also love the way it was presented to me - both visually and auditorily. It was very good, looking forward to seeing more of you!

(1 edit)

Thank you for the kind words. I am only in the planning stage for my next game (which is also story-driven), I hope you enjoy it just as much as this one.

A Short, Harrowing, Hauntingly Beautiful Game

(+1)

I played the first ten minutes ... it looks great. I look forward to playing it all. Keep up the good work.

(+2)

The ending is very dissapointing ;-;

(+1)

It was originally going to be a lot happier, but I changed my mind :p

(+2)

;-;

(+1)

Is the zombie ending the online ending? I'm intrigued.

(+1)

Yeah, the zombie ending is the only one. I am only in the planning stage for my next game but having multiple endings is something that I'm definitely putting in. Can't guarantee they'll be happy ones though...

(+1)

Oh, okay. I thought that perhaps if you didn't have low health at the end you might not die. (Maybe I missed some food? I looked pretty carefully.)

(+1)

I spread out the food so that you only have 2/100 health when you get to the end (to increase the tension), so I'm sure you found all of them. Thank you for playing and rating the game.

(+1)

HI! May I just start off with wow, amazing. This was an absolute blast to play and I have nothing but the highest praise for this game. The overall mechanics and  gameplay were on point making the game tense as well as add to the story. The story was fun as well as interesting to learn because your ideas of the world change the farther you progress. The little details that were added (such as backstory of objects) just made it that much better!). I honestly enjoyed the game and can't wait for more! Good luck in the future!

(+1)

it's like "The War of Mine" but in 8bit. Legit!

(+1)

Really enjoy this game! It was amazing.

(+1)

Love it man.. I passed the game.. very clever and  unique style..

(+1)

I enjoyed the retro pixel art and, the deep story that you put into this game. It was interesting being the lone survivor trying to make it out from the zombie infestation. One problem I had was falling asleep before I was told to. I couldn't progress past that and, i'm not sure if this is a bug or, if I needed to back track and, go a different route.
(+1)

Hey! Played some of this on my channel, it's got some really great atmosphere!

(+1)

THIS GAME IS OUTSTANDING! Really well made and a great 30-45 minute pixel/post apocalyptic game!

(1 edit) (+2)

The dark in the subway could deserve to be less dark; I was unable to see anything outside of the circle, and was convinced it was pure black until I watched someone else's playthrough. Even then, I still had to go into my graphic card's setting and raise the gamma in order to see anything and make it through.

(+1)

Yeah sorry about that. The game definitely needs one of those 'adjust the slider until you can barely see the symbol' like you see in horror games. Thanks for playing.

(+1)

I thought so as well, however if it weren't for that one infected that needs to be seen from afar, it would have been perfectly possible to finish the area this way and I wouldn't have noticed anything. At first I found this full blindness was actually a nice part of the experience !

(+1)

I've fixed the game so that darkness is now brighter, would you be able to test this on your monitor? I've linked to a specific version so you won't have to start from the beginning.

(+1)

Yes, the darkness looks good here.

(1 edit)

Thank you for checking.  I hope not too many other people had the same issue.

(+1)

(not deadlock, deadbolt .. but just cause the outline item interactions)

Well spotted. The wallpapers for the buildings were also 'inspired' by Deadbolt.

Your thoughts on deaths are interesting, I was told that there should be more noise so I added the sounds, but something like the Last of Us could really work.

Thanks for playing.

(+1)

(SPOILERS AHEAD! for this and the last of us..)

Damn the one near the ladder spun around and wrecked me, made me jump out my skin. Great atmosphere for such simple presentation! I think maybe the death would've been more effective if he didn't say anything and there was no music, just the wind or something.. a bit like that early death in the last of us.
Reminded me a little bit of Deadlock or Flashback

(1 edit) (+2)

Pixels and apocalypse? I'm in. Loved it, great fun to play, clever use of pixels - like the lying down animation and a perfect ending, thankyou. I hope you don't mind but i did a play thru of it

(1 edit) (+1)

wow wow wow and wow

I started playing this just as I got food onto the BBQ and when I finished the play every things was cooked spot on but more importantly, I really enjoyed play RESURGENT. I'm not a fan of this style of gaming i enjoyed the play and elt the need to finish this little gem of a post apocalypt adventure. The ending got me though and wasn't what I expect but well done.

All the best
