A Short, Harrowing, Hauntingly Beautiful Game

(+1)

I played the first ten minutes ... it looks great. I look forward to playing it all. Keep up the good work.

The ending is very dissapointing ;-;

(+1)

It was originally going to be a lot happier, but I changed my mind :p

;-;

Is the zombie ending the online ending? I'm intrigued.

(+1)

Yeah, the zombie ending is the only one. I am only in the planning stage for my next game but having multiple endings is something that I'm definitely putting in. Can't guarantee they'll be happy ones though...

Oh, okay. I thought that perhaps if you didn't have low health at the end you might not die. (Maybe I missed some food? I looked pretty carefully.)

(+1)

I spread out the food so that you only have 2/100 health when you get to the end (to increase the tension), so I'm sure you found all of them. Thank you for playing and rating the game.

HI! May I just start off with wow, amazing. This was an absolute blast to play and I have nothing but the highest praise for this game. The overall mechanics and  gameplay were on point making the game tense as well as add to the story. The story was fun as well as interesting to learn because your ideas of the world change the farther you progress. The little details that were added (such as backstory of objects) just made it that much better!). I honestly enjoyed the game and can't wait for more! Good luck in the future!

it's like "The War of Mine" but in 8bit. Legit!

(+1)

Really enjoy this game! It was amazing.

(+1)

Love it man.. I passed the game.. very clever and  unique style..

I enjoyed the retro pixel art and, the deep story that you put into this game. It was interesting being the lone survivor trying to make it out from the zombie infestation. One problem I had was falling asleep before I was told to. I couldn't progress past that and, i'm not sure if this is a bug or, if I needed to back track and, go a different route.

Hey! Played some of this on my channel, it's got some really great atmosphere!

(+1)

THIS GAME IS OUTSTANDING! Really well made and a great 30-45 minute pixel/post apocalyptic game!

The dark in the subway could deserve to be less dark; I was unable to see anything outside of the circle, and was convinced it was pure black until I watched someone else's playthrough. Even then, I still had to go into my graphic card's setting and raise the gamma in order to see anything and make it through.

(+1)

Yeah sorry about that. The game definitely needs one of those 'adjust the slider until you can barely see the symbol' like you see in horror games. Thanks for playing.

I thought so as well, however if it weren't for that one infected that needs to be seen from afar, it would have been perfectly possible to finish the area this way and I wouldn't have noticed anything. At first I found this full blindness was actually a nice part of the experience !

(+1)

I've fixed the game so that darkness is now brighter, would you be able to test this on your monitor? I've linked to a specific version so you won't have to start from the beginning.

Yes, the darkness looks good here.

Thank you for checking.  I hope not too many other people had the same issue.

(not deadlock, deadbolt .. but just cause the outline item interactions)

Well spotted. The wallpapers for the buildings were also 'inspired' by Deadbolt.

Your thoughts on deaths are interesting, I was told that there should be more noise so I added the sounds, but something like the Last of Us could really work.

Thanks for playing.

(SPOILERS AHEAD! for this and the last of us..)

Damn the one near the ladder spun around and wrecked me, made me jump out my skin. Great atmosphere for such simple presentation! I think maybe the death would've been more effective if he didn't say anything and there was no music, just the wind or something.. a bit like that early death in the last of us.
Reminded me a little bit of Deadlock or Flashback

Pixels and apocalypse? I'm in. Loved it, great fun to play, clever use of pixels - like the lying down animation and a perfect ending, thankyou. I hope you don't mind but i did a play thru of it

(1 edit) (+1)

wow wow wow and wow

I started playing this just as I got food onto the BBQ and when I finished the play every things was cooked spot on but more importantly, I really enjoyed play RESURGENT. I'm not a fan of this style of gaming i enjoyed the play and elt the need to finish this little gem of a post apocalypt adventure. The ending got me though and wasn't what I expect but well done.

All the best
